Happy Tails
Her new name is Emily Roxanne, we call her Emma. She is doing well, getting used to being with just us, she does miss her buddies. Ended up sleeping with us last night. I put the applicaiton in today and you should have it by Monday or Tuesday. I had forgotten to get my husband to sign it. Thank you for all of your help.
Peanuts and Rascal- We are out numbered 5-3.....
Everyone is getting along great….except for our cat. He’s used to Ace ignoring him and Niko is too interested in him which is making him hiss at Niko. I’m sure they will eventually settle in. I’ve been able to train Niko on the shock collar already. He knows when he hears it beep and feels it vibrate that he needs to get back in the yard. He’s really picking up the whistle training very quickly. He knows that when I blow the whistle it’s time to come in and he comes running. Ace is really helping show him the ropes when it comes to the commands.
This is Teddy (aka Shaggy) hanging out at school waiting for Henry. He LOVED his first snowfall. I realize in Tennesse he probably didn't see much. He started classes and is doing great. He has been a wonderful addition to the family. He is still a little shy around my husband, but we are hoping that in time, he warms up.
Hi Jocelyn - Well Nathan arrived around noon – they got stuck in construction traffic and I believe they had to wait at the 2:30 am stop for an hour and a half for someone. He came out and jumped up and gave us each one of his hugsy hugs. We walked him around a bit game him some water and when we opened the door to the SUV he jumped right in. My husband Steve sat in the back with him and gave him some treats and of course he kept looking for more. After about 20 minutes he stretched out and fell asleep all the way home. We got home and my grandkids ages, 7 9 and 11 cane out and all said he was so cute. He ran in the back yard – even though we live in the country we will train him to stay in the back. He’s learning but just loves to run around the house with someone going each way to tell him “no” and point to the back yard. My 9 year old granddaughter Abby has had cancer and only has one good eye and only partial vision in the other. She has taken over the responsibility of “training” him to sit, laydown and shake and has spent all afternoon with him. It’s amazing since she doesn’t see that well and is usually afraid of dogs. He has won our hearts already and has totally made himself to home. He takes his naps under our computer table with his head on my husband Steve’s foot. He is a bundle of joy and you did an awesome job with him Joceyln. I would have been sad to say goodby to him too. Here are a couple of pictures we took – getting him to stay in one spot was difficult.
Tootsie is doing wonderful and we love her so much. Even our cats love her. Thanks for all you did to save Tootsie and bring us together. She is so very especial!
I just want to give you a short update on Cody who is now with us for two weeks. He is a wonderful dog, very kind and very smart. We love him very much! He is already an important part of our family. Thank you for making that possible. Susie was adopted by a wonderful loving family in CT......thank you!!!!! Willow is doing great. He is spoiled rotten of course and every day Kevin and I look at him and say, "He's the cutest puppy ever". I sent you 3 pictures, the first 2 are at Christmas and the third one is of him in his life vest. Picture is blurry but still cute. I got him the life vest since we take him canoeing and camping. He's definitely a water dog!! He fits in great with our little family; even the cat is beginning to come around and lay next to him. Foxy is a sweetie, she had made herself quite at home, at home and in our hearts. What a wonderful dog. She settled in without a fuss and seems very at ease with us. A good mannered good tempered dog, thanks for allowing us to be her new family. I'm sorry it's taken a while to send photos of Emmitt. We wanted to share these with you from Christmas. As you can see, he has adjusted into his new family very well. He is doing great. Our Meghan came home for Thanksgiving and fell in love with him. I think Emmitt is now her favorite. He loves her as well. Unfortunately, she just left a few days ago back to Washington D.C. I know Emmitt misses her terribly as well as ourselves. I don't know if you can tell or not, he definitely put on a few pounds as well. He seems to cling to our little Bichon - Wally. Maybe because they are both about the same age.
Bob and Lady having fun, enjoying life! Hi just wanted to shoot you a message, we are in Illinois about 100 miles from home... give or take 10-15.So far she is doing very well, and is currently curled up on the floor by my feet. She did have a little itching spell so we went ahead and gave a dose of her medicine and it has seemed to help. Already we can tell she is a very smart dog as she has sat when asked to and let us know when she needed to stop for a bathroom break. We have already started a sierra picture file on my comp and i am including some of the pictures, we will keep you informed of her progress. I want to thank you again for all of your help these last few weeks making this adoption a reality. It has been a busy week. Had to take Oliver to emergency vet Wed. night b/c he started bleeding from incision site but all is ok. Took him today to get a bath and get stitches out and vet said he had an infection in the scrotum so he continued him on more antibiotics. He is such a wonderful dog and we all love him so much. Here are some pictures. The one with the "lampshade" was after the vet the other night. I couldn't keep it on him b/c I felt so sorry for him. Please let me know where to mail the contract. Hope to meet you soon. I took Niko to the groomer’s yesterday and they took a Christmas picture of him and I wanted to pass it along to you. Our Sierra girl Boots in his new home Zorro is doing awesome - he is the star of his obedience class! He has made many friends in the neighborhood - all the dogs want to play at our house now. My brother's dog is in a state of depression every time we leave their house too. The weather has been quite cold - so we have not had many of our typicl outdoor activities. However, I have been training him with lacrosse - I am the local coach. So far he can fetch the ball and drop it in the lacrosse net when he comes back. This will be very handy when he is at our practices in the spring. Bella (f/k/a Brooke f/k/a Butter) is doing great. What a terrific dog. Even our vet commented how calm she is for a rescue dog. We had no problems with her (except for chewing up my daughter's cell phone LOL). She fit right in and was comfortable with us right from the beginning. She is cute and cuddly and her fur is so soft. She is always happy to see us when we walk through the door or get up in the morning. Feels like we had her for a long time, not just 1.5 weeks. Thanks for all your help. Spring will also help so I can get Oliver out and let him play. He loves to chase balls and toys and he brings them back. He is so sweet. Thanks for your support. Coco has a new home and is doing just fine. Thought I would send you a couple of pictures of Romeo settling in our home. He is an absolute love! As you can see, our cat has adjusted to him quite quickly as well! We can’t thank you enough, we love him so much already! Here are some pictures of Melanie with my children - they are very infatuated with her! I hope you enjoy these pictures of Max. The very last one is him getting ready to roll over for a treat. I just learned how to email pictures so I hope these come to you OK. Now that I know how to do this, I will be able to send lots of him in the coming months. I just wish he could "pose" for a pretty picture....looking his best!!!! I'll try to capture one of those soon!! Here's a picture of my daughter and Sadie (formerly Totty :) and My son who she fell in love with right off the transprot. Tacoma aka Mattie is doing great! He went right to the bed I had intended to be his last night, and claimed it. ;) He and Mochi absolutely adore each other. They have been playing non-stop. We learned this morning on our walk that he is pretty afraid of cars, but he's a smart guy and is already learning to sit on command. I think we'll be just fine... Thanks again for everything! |
