Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….
Vafa and Nika had been a dear friends and supporters for the SPCA of Tennessee. They are both BIG animal lovers. They lost Namac a Siberian Husky who was found on the street and they open the heart and home to him. The pain is unbearable at this time but the memories always will be with them.
On June 18th, a day after Namac was completely normal and healthy, he abruptly collapsed at home and was losing blood internally. We rushed him to the ER and saved his life. He was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma on his heart- one of the most aggressive and rare cancer in Dogs. We were devastated by the news but were blessed with a month of amazing quality time with him. This cancer, although destructive, is relatively painless in the short run. He had a great last month full of walks, cuddles, kisses, massages, home cooked meals, raw meat, bones, chew toys, and walks at the park. We treated his internal bleeding 2 more times before we knew his quality of life was going to seriously decline. On his last day, he was completely normal until his final collapse. He slowly faded away in my arms. Nika and I miss him dearly, as does the rest of the family, especially his companion- Fel-Fel. I know his animal spirit is flying high. Love you Nammie. ***WARNING*** An animal companion’s life is a gift, no matter the time limit. This video may contain content towards the end some viewers may find disturbing.
