adoption process

Additional Information

Please fill out an Adoption Application and email it to spcaoftn@gmail.com. your application will be review and you will be contacted via phone call to explained more about the adoption process, and to be able to meet the pet you will like to adopt. All our dogs are in foster care and you will be talking to their foster parents prior the meet and greet. The foster family will set a time and date you to to meet the dog you are interested in adopting. The foster parents will discuss with you any behavior or any other information related to the dog that you will need to know in advance as well as answering any questions you might have for the foster family. Please remember all our SPCA dogs come from different situations, sometimes we might not the previous history of the dog but we will disclose what we know the moment they come into our program. Always remember that it might take up to 2 weeks for the new pet to be comfortable in a new environment. After the family has decided to follow up with the adoption process, you will need to submit the Contract as well as the Hold and Harmless Forms. Thank you for your interest in wanting to adopt from the SPCA of Tennessee.

PS- If you have any other family pet we also recommend to come along to the meet and greet to make sure it will be a good fit for everyone. If you are inquiring about specific breed

*PLEASE read about the breed specific and get more Information, if you are looking for a purebred dog. All dogs are beautiful and smart but not every dog is a good fit for a family. Also families with small children should be always careful about letting your child be alone with a new family pet. Supervision is always at must to be safe for the child and the pet.
